Reason for urgency: The item was due to be taken in June 2022, but there was a delay in adding the item to the forward plan due to other areas of work within Children’s Services, including the implementing of the Improvement Plan and two recent Ofsted monitoring inspections, which has involved both commissioning and procurement in recovery work. The current Peninsula Residential Children Homes Framework Agreement ends on January 31st 2023. It is hoped to launch the tender during August, which of course coincides with the summer recess and consequently waiting until the September Cabinet would significantly impact on the procurement timetable and risk severe delay to the implementation of the new agreement.
