After many attempts by the Parish Council (since 2017) to convince DCC and Highways to improve road safety for the residents of Loddiswell and surrounding areas we have now witnessed a very serious accident resulting in a young boy being rushed to Derriford for urgent surgery.
We are formally requesting the following:
1) Introduction of a pedestrian crossing on the B3196, between the
village playing fields and Beechwood Park, where our new Primary
School is located (along with c70 households). Children cross this
road frequently, whether it is to get to the primary school, the
pre-school (located in the park) or just to get to and from the
park itself.
2) Installation of pavement safety railings along either side of
the road
3) Relocating the speed enforcement sign further north on the
B3196
4) Reducing the speed limit through the village to 20 mph
