I am starting this petition as I have unfortunately had a car accident in the past where there was no white lines in the centre of the road, the other driver side scraped my car and the police were called.
The police informed me that because there were no white lines it was knock for knock because they could not determine who was in the wrong or who was on the wrong side of the road, therefore we would have to pay for our own damage, Of which I was very upset about.
I moved to kingskerswell when there was white lines in the road to which no accidents have happened when they were there. I have been told that removing the white lines have made kingskerswell safer however I disagree with this as of my reasons above.
If more people were aware that any accident that happens here it would be knock for knock more people would want the white lines placed back for there safety. I see daily near misses with the double decker buses that drive in the middle of the road because there is nothing to keep them to the correct side of the road. Please put them back before a major accident happens.
