Exclusion of the Press and Public

Recommendation: that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 and 2 of Schedule 12A of the Act namely relating to any individual and information likely to reveal the identity of an individual and in accordance with Section 36 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, by virtue of the fact that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

Leadership Arrangements in Children's Services

Report of the Interim Chief Executive, to follow.

Decision:

RESOLVED

 

(a) that the management action taken in relation to the Director of Children and Young People’s Futures be endorsed; and

 

(b) that the interim appointment of Lisa Bursill as Director of Children and Young People’s Futures and the Statutory role as Director of Children’s Services be noted.

Minutes:

The Committee considered the Report of the Interim Chief Executive relating to proposals on the future Leadership arrangements in Childrens Services.

 

The Report outlined the arrangements for the post of Director of Children’s Services (DCS) for Devon County Council.

 

The Committee discussed the importance of the stability of the service while plans were made for the longer term, including the immediate temporary measures which had been put in place, highlighting they would provide continuity of leadership, guidance and support to staff whilst more permanent arrangements were put in place.

 

It was MOVED by Councillor Hart, SECONDED by Councillor McInnes, and

 

RESOLVED
