In accordance with the County Council’s Constitution, the Chair and Vice Chair must be County Councillors.

The Committee considered the Report of the Director of Climate Change, Environment and Transport (CET/22/24) on submissions in response to the statutory consultation on the restrictions proposed in the Torridge area, as part of the local waiting restriction programme. In October 2021, a list of requests for new or amended waiting restrictions for the area was collated by the County Council. 

 

Officers had consulted the relevant local County Councillors and Chair/Vice Chair before the proposed restrictions were advertised from 26 May until 20 June 2022.

 

A summary of the proposals advertised were detailed in Appendix 1.

 

Following advertisement proposals which had not attracted objections would  be implemented; and proposals that had received objections were detailed in Appendix 2 to the Report together with Officer comments and recommendations for each location.

 

The local Member (Torrington Rural) referred to obstructive parking in South Street, Torrington which would be monitored by officers.

 

It was MOVED by Councillor A Saywell and SECONDED by Councillor Wilton-Love and

 

RESOLVED

 

(a) that the work on the local waiting restriction programme be noted; and

 

(b) that the recommendations contained in Appendix 2 of the Report CET/22/24 be approved.
