Honorary Aldermen The Council is requested to consider and, if so agreed, adopt the following resolution:
“that under Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council confers on those past Members of the Devon County Council, who shall be named at the meeting, the title of Honorary Alderman in recognition of their eminent services to the Council during their membership”
[NB: Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act provides that the foregoing honour may be conferred by resolution of the Council passed by not less than two thirds of the members voting thereon at a specially convened meeting of the Council] Additional documents: Decision: It was MOVED and it was duly SECONDED that under Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council confer on the following past Members of the Devon County Council the title of Honorary Alderman in recognition of their eminent service to the Council during the period of their membership of the Council:
Stuart Barker, Caroline Chugg, John Clatworthy, Polly Colthorpe Richard Edgell, Roger Giles Gordon Hook John Matthews, Barry Parsons Nick Way
The Motion was put to the vote and declared CARRIED, unanimously. Minutes: It was MOVED and it was duly SECONDED that under Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Council confer on the following past Members of the Devon County Council the title of Honorary Alderman in recognition of their eminent service to the Council during the period of their membership of the Council:
