*5 Former Throwleigh Primary School, Okehampton (Minute *79/27 March 2013)

The Committee considered the Report of the Head of Business Strategy Support (BSS/14/5 - text only | pdf BSS/14/5) on a proposed application by the County Council to the Charity Commission for a new charitable scheme relating to the former Throwleigh Primary School, Okehampton (more recently known as the Throwleigh Residential Centre).

The scheme, which was supported by the four Parish Councils in the Area of Benefit (Throwleigh, Gidleigh, Drewsteignton and Chagford), would allow the County Council as current Trustees of Throwleigh Residential Centre to sell the property and vest the proceeds in a grant making trust to advance the education of young people in the Area of Benefit.

It was MOVED by Councillor Ball, SECONDED by Councillor Sellis and

RESOLVED that Councillors McInnes, Sanders and Sellis be appointed to discharge the functions of Devon County Council ( the Trustee ) in respect of the former Throwleigh Primary School (more recently known as the Throwleigh Residential Centre), Providence, Okehampton, Devon.
