RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 22 November 2012 be signed as a correct record.

*79 Throwleigh Residential Centre (Minute *72/22 November 2012)

The Committee considered the Report of the Head of Business Strategy Support (BSS/13/3 - text only | pdf BSS/13/3) outlining the objects of a proposed new charitable scheme to allow the former Throwleigh Residential Centre to be sold.

Under the new scheme, which would be subject to Charity Commission approval, the proceeds of sale would be vested in a grant making trust for the benefit of young people in the parishes of Throwleigh, Gidleigh, Drewsteignton and Chagford and the parish councils would be involved in administering the trust.

The revised objects had been broadly accepted by those who had objected to the original proposal and discussions were taking place with the four parish councils to develop the most appropriate vehicle to receive the trust.

It was MOVED by Councillor Marsh, SECONDED by Councillor Sanders and

RESOLVED that the Head of Business Strategy Support, in consultation with the Chairman/Vice-Chairman, be authorised to approve a new charitable scheme for the Throwleigh Residential Centre Trust once discussions with the four parishes have concluded.

The minutes of the meeting held on 31 January 2013 were noted.

*81 Councillor Christine Marsh

The Chairman paid tribute to the service given by Councillor Marsh who would not be seeking re-election at the County Council Elections on 2 May 2013.
