*19 Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman

RESOLVED that Councillor Marsh and Councillor Sanders be elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively for the ensuing year.

*20 Minutes

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 8 April 2010 be signed as a correct record.

Councillor Sellis asked that, when considering the Devon Local Transport Plan at the last meeting, the Committee s support for the development of the rail link between Tavistock and Okehampton with provision for freight be recorded. This was in order that the A386 should not have to take all the HGVs and other heavy freight traffic.

It was also mentioned that there was no representative from West Devon Borough Council on the Devon and Exeter Rail Working Party and Councillor Marsh agreed to follow this up.

[Note: Councillor Pearce wished to have it recorded that although he submitted his apologies for the April meeting and his apologies were recorded, he did in fact attend the meeting for the last three items on the agenda]

Members noted that meetings had been scheduled in the County Council calendar on the following dates at 11am:

19 November 2010 and 31 March 2011
