RESOLVED

(a) that the minutes of the meeting held on 28 June 2006 be signed as a correct record;

(b) that Parish Councils be encouraged to complete and forward the yellow cards following Lengthmen s visits as referred to in Minute 17 of the last meeting;

(c) that a briefing regarding the standard of work done by South West Highways (SWH) and the mobilisation of the term contract with SWH which begins in April 2007 be made to Councillors in advance of the new contract, together with an invitation to SWH to send a representative to answer Members questions.

*26 Devon Local Transport Plan Scheme for Formal Approval

Proposed Footway and Cycleway, Braunton Road to Pilton School and Fairview, Barnstaple

The Committee considered the report of the Area Engineer (North) (EEC/06/42/LSO - text only | pdf EEC/06/42/LSO) which seeks approval for a new cycle footway scheme in Barnstaple.

It was MOVED by Councillor Greenslade and SECONDED by Councillor Haywood and

RESOLVED

(a) that the previous scheme approved on 7 December 2004 (Minute *13 refers), be rescinded;

(b) that the scheme shown on drawing number EATS(N)85-22-00 be approved at an estimated cost of 225,000;

(c) that a planning application be made in respect of the scheme;

(d) that approval be sought from the Executive Member for Environment for the use of Compulsory Purchase Order Powers should land acquisition by agreement not be forthcoming.

The Committee considered the report of the Area Engineer (North) (EEC/06/43/LSO - pdf EEC/06/43/LSO) on actions taken under delegated powers since the last meeting.

It was MOVED by Councillor Haywood and SECONDED by Councillor Macbeth and

RESOLVED that the report be noted.
