ePetition details
Currently, there is no safe or controlled pedestrian crossing
point over Topsham Road (A3015) between the Countess Wear
roundabout (Topsham side) and the Southbrook Road junction. There
is also no safe or controlled pedestrian crossing point over Rydon
Lane between the footbridge on Bridge Road and the Pynes Hill
junction.
The Countess Wear roundabout is one of the busiest sections of
Exeter’s infrastructure, and for pedestrians and cyclists,
young and old, it is a logistical nightmare and a serious concern
for local residents. This section of our infrastructure has become
increasingly busy over the last ten years, due to the extensive
development of housing and retail this side of the city. It is now
vital that we address this problem in order that pedestrians and
cyclists are able to navigate around this busy roundabout in a way
that is mutually safe.
